Hotel Geulzicht is the ideal place to stay for those who appreciate the rustic character and romantic flair of a hotel furnished in the English country manor style. As a hotel guest you can dwell in the large, comfortable sitting areas, or in the pleasant dining room, where dinner is served exclusively à la carte. As the hotel is open to hotel guests only, it ensures - combined with its spectacular surroundings - an atmosphere of privacy and peace in which you can unwind completely. Contrary to most hotel castles, the guests of Geulzicht Castle stay and sleep in the original castle itself! Its rich details, such as high ceilings and original chandeliers, reflect the past, while offering contemporary facilities.
The ten large guestrooms (varying from 28 to 50 m2) are located on two floors and are all differently decorated. Some of the rooms still have their original wood panelling, mantelpieces and Roman baths. The sanitary facilities differ from room to room. Some rooms have a normal bath, four rooms a sunken Roman bath and one room a whirlpool/hydrosauna. Two rooms have a private terrace.

Due to its location, the hotel is the ideal starting point for day trips into the region. The forrest has also many hiking pathes to offer. Geulzicht Castle Hotel is situated on top of a rock, very close to the Geul valley. The river Geul, with a waterfall , runs 100 m away from the castle. The Geul valley is rightly praised as one of the most beautiful parts of the Netherlands. In summertime emerald green and golden yellow, in autumn bursting with thousand colours, in winter little Switzerland under a blanket of snow. A true paradise for those how love walking and rambling and crisp, pure air. A scenic foothpath bordering the river Geul takes you through the nature reserve Ingendael to Valkenburg, the city of marl. Here you can enjoy at length the cosy atmosphere of the sidewalk cafés, relax and indulge at Thermae 2000, or have a go at the brand-new Holland Casino on top of the famous Cauberg.

The Ardennes, the Eifel, Aachen and Liege are, so to speak, only a stone’s throw away. All tourist attractions in the South of Limburg can be reached by car within 20 minutes, but leaving the through roads to explore the many little country-roads that wind themselves along picturesque dales, timber framed houses, field-crosses and standard tree orchards, proves for many a man to be the real highlight of the day.
