Only in the Oosterschelde live about 100 kinds of fish and thousands invertebrates. Divers can enjoy lobsters, various types of sea anemones, sea squirts, sponges and fish like the pout, the butterfish or Sculpins. Spectacular highlight of the dive season is the mating season of the sepia or cuttlefish, a squid in the Oosterschelde. Divers from all over Europe come in May to the Oosterschelde to admire the spectacle of the mating squid. The Veerse Meren offers beautifully clear water diving, with visibility of up to ten meters. Lake Veere itself is a fine animal community development, which includes sea squirts, sea anemones, crabs and various species of shrimp.
