Your host and hostess are Marie-José Kaufmann-Janssen (born in the village Obbicht) and Urs Kaufmann (a genuine Swiss born in Luzern).
Your hostess successfully absolved her Study at the Heerlen Hotel business College and Urs graduated as a Chef at het Higher Catering Business School in Switzerland. We met in Luzern, fell in love and were married there.
After having worked in several renowned Houses of Gastronomy in Switzerland for ten years, the idea was born to go to the Netherlands and start a business of our own. We found it in this part of the Netherlands, called
Zuid-Limburg also known as Little Switserland. When we first laid eyes on Beukenhorst we fell in love with it right away. In 1995 we moved in and from spring 1997 we are three for our son Christian was then born.
